About Wish Partner
Story Overview
Wish Partner follows Han Tae-min, a 22-year-old returning college student who has just completed his military service and is struggling with an unusually personal problem. His former girlfriend, Yeonseo, ended their relationship after their first sexual experience because she could not handle his exceptional size. Convinced that a more ordinary body might have saved their relationship, Tae-min considers dangerous reduction surgery, but backs out after learning that the procedure could result in permanent impotence or even death.
Still embarrassed and frustrated, Tae-min encounters a campus rumor about a mysterious statue on the mountain near his school. According to an anonymous community post, anyone who reveals their troubles and sincerely shouts a wish before the statue for 77 days can have that wish granted. He initially dismisses the story, especially after department beauty Lim Hyena mocks the idea and treats him with open hostility. However, Tae-min eventually climbs the mountain, deciding that he has little left to lose. At the statue, he begins to make his wish—only to hear someone else loudly confessing an equally embarrassing desire. The unexpected voice belongs to Hyena, turning Tae-min’s private act of desperation into a secret they may now have to share.
Why Readers May Like Wish Partner
The series combines adult romance with awkward comedy and a supernatural wish premise. Its central appeal comes from the collision between Tae-min’s serious insecurity and the increasingly absurd situations created by the statue rumor. His problem is intimate and humiliating, yet the story frames his attempts to solve it through uncomfortable consultations, teasing conversations, and impulsive decisions that give the narrative a lively comic rhythm.
There is also a strong undercurrent of romantic tension. Tae-min’s unresolved feelings about Yeonseo explain why he is willing to consider such an extreme solution, while Hyena’s sharp hostility suggests that the past still affects how she sees him. Their encounter at the statue creates a new form of vulnerability: both characters have exposed private wishes, and neither can easily return to their previous dynamic. The tone moves between embarrassment, provocative adult situations, emotional frustration, and playful surprise, with the supernatural premise providing a clear hook for the ongoing story.
Characters & Story Focus
Han Tae-min is the returning student at the center of the story. He is inexperienced, self-conscious, and easily flustered, but his desperation also pushes him into bold choices, including considering risky surgery and climbing the mountain despite his skepticism. His past with Yeonseo remains the emotional source of his insecurity.
Yeonseo was Tae-min’s first girlfriend. Their relationship ended immediately after their first sexual encounter, and she later went abroad as an exchange student. Her absence continues to shape Tae-min’s belief that his body cost him the person he loved.
Lim Hyena is described as the goddess of their department and Yeonseo’s inseparable best friend. She openly dislikes Tae-min and views him with contempt, yet her own wish at the statue reveals that she has private concerns of her own. Minji, an older acquaintance who calls Tae-min “kiddo,” provides teasing support while encouraging him to explain his situation.
