About Desire to Survive Chapter 1

After a plane crash leaves her stranded on an unfamiliar island, Yoon Seo-ah wakes to find Pyo Tae-jeong—the man who attempted an emergency landing—nearby. He explains the pilot’s fate and the uncertain chances of the other passengers. As rain, cold, and a lack of supplies threaten their survival, Tae-jeong focuses on shelter, warmth, and water. Seo-ah struggles with fear and embarrassment but begins to realize she must become more useful if they are to endure.
Chapter Review
Chapter 1 establishes a tense survival premise with a brisk pace and strong contrast between Seo-ah’s panic and Tae-jeong’s calm practicality. The storm and isolation create immediate pressure, while their awkward first cooperation adds a suggestive adult-romance undertone. Seo-ah’s shift from helplessness toward determination gives the opening a promising character movement.
